The landscape is overwhelming, and in particular the way in which the island is populated by wild donkeys that give the island its name. Asinara.

In your photographs they seem like the ultimate post-modern, post-nuclear survivors. […] I’ve never been to Asinara, but the curious thought I had while looking at these picture was that it was the daytime that seemed threatening, a source of anxiety, and even frightening – and the nighttime as a time of exhalation, of release even.
